RIP Ernie Barnes

What do you think when you see this picture?

Temporary lay-offs.....good times!
Easy credit rip-offs.....good times!
Ain't we luck we got 'em...GOOD TIMES!

The meaning behind this painting and the lyrics seems especially fitting in today's economy. Wouldn't you love to forget all about your problems and the crisis we're in as a nation and just head down to the Sugar Shack and dance the night away? Yeah, me too.

The artist behind this fantastic and culturally significant painting, Ernie Barnes, once said he never painted people will their eyes open because "we don't see each other. We are blind to each other's humanity." Mr. Barnes passed away on Monday at the age of 70. He leaves behind a wife, five children and an incredible legacy. RIP.
